By the way, this time, I will write while remembering how this hedgehog series was born. First of all, there was an analog camera called a hedgehog camera. This was a later digital hedgehog (although this is now famous as a cult digital camera), but it was originally a small analog camera (like a key chain rather than a camera). It wasn't the shape of a hedgehog, but I just put a sticker with a hedgehog illustration on the front part. So, if you replace this sticker, you can make as many new cameras as you like, so a camera of various characters was born after hedgehog, and more than 30 kinds of versions were created. Well, I think it was the most sold camera in the Power Shovel era (the current company of Tonkachi) because it was so popular. OhLisa LarsonIt was this camera that triggered me to work with.
This character design will eventually be a tonkachiLisa LarsonSasaki -san at a young age who will work on Goffstein. First of all, a hedgehog that could only be seen as a caterpillar was formed, and he was rushed to make it more and made other animals. The theme is "living and living", so it was named "Ikimono Series". I don't know if these characters have fans, but we love them.
But why did you put a hedgehog character to the camera in the first place? At that time, I thought that the 110 (read one -ten!) Film used with this camera was already on the verge of analog film, and it would not be sold unless it was POP. Also, I felt interesting to create something that wasn't a famous character like this and handle it like a famous character (or that was what I wanted to do!). In fact, this method was influenced by Moro from the music movement of punk and new wave. These music came out a lot from a small label, not a major, and many of them were bad. The performance ability was not high, and the business was not smart, but the motivation was so expensive to break through the ceiling and even stylish. In other words, it was our music. But when the "Ikimono Series" came out, it had already been about 20 years since the New Wave era. However, the shock at that time was continuing, and I was an adult while holding it. And in fact, the "society" itself remained it.
So what was a punk New wave blow? That's why I stopped all of the things that have been cultivated so far, including the art, human relationships, and society that have been built by great people, adults, bad guys, and people. Give me! Please do not! It was a statement. This was a punk that expressed this in a "shouting" method, and the new wave was expressed in "how to not shout". And on the back of these, there was a voice saying, "You can do it!"
