Lisa Larson
A ceramic artist and designer representing Sweden in the 20th century.
Born in 1931 in the Småland region of southern Sweden. After studying at Gothenburg's prestigious Sloyd Forening School (currently HDK Gothenburg University of Design and Crafts), he was scouted by Gustavsberg Factory, Sweden's largest pottery manufacturer, and rose to prominence under master master Stig Lindberg.
During his tenure of over 20 years, he released figures of many iconic animals and people, including the lion, and became a popular designer representing the factory.
Became independent in 1980. While working as a freelancer with companies both domestically and internationally, in 1992 he established Keramikstudion with his former colleagues, devoting himself to his own artistic expression (creating unique pieces) in the studio.
In his later years, he became deeply involved with Japan, and his works, which combine warmth, humor, and tranquility, continue to be loved by generations all over the world.
In March 2024, he passed away at the age of 92, missed by many fans.
