For two days, February 21st (Sat) and 22nd (Sun), 2026, at “PLAY! MUSEUM” in Tachikawa, Tokyo,A special workshop where you can paint on Mikey's plateswill be held.

This time,Lisa LarsonThis is the first full-fledged painting workshop.
You will be free to paint on a Mashiko ware plate with Mikey's illustration using Mashiko ware glaze.

You can draw a pattern on it, or you can go all out and paint it all over. There are many ways to enjoy it, such as bordering it with a Scandinavian design.
It's a special experience where you can make a one-of-a-kind "Mikey's plate" in the world.

Not only those with experience in painting are welcome, but our staff will also support you on the day of the painting.
Even if you are new to painting, please feel free to join us!

・Lisa LarsonFirst painting workshop!
This is a special workshop where you can use Mashiko ware glaze to paint a plate with Mikey's illustrations on it. After painting, the plates are fired in Mashiko with a medium white glaze (a type of transparent glaze).

・Full-scale production experience with instructors invited from Mashiko!
On the day of the event, we will invite instructors from the pottery that produces Lisa's Mashiko ware plates and other items to support production. Even first-timers can participate with confidence.

・Lisa LarsonYou can paint on classic Mashiko ware plates!
Lisa LarsonA standard 5.5-inch plate (approx. φ17.3 x H2cm) of Mashiko ware. In this workshop, we will paint the same plates as our standard products, and after painting, we will fire them in the same Mashiko kiln.

・Enjoy free expression with three specially formulated glazes!
The glaze used is a glaze specially prepared for the workshop in Mashiko. You can enjoy painting with free imagination using 3 colors: black, blue, and moss green.

Precautions
  • ・This participation fee does not include admission to the exhibition. Please purchase exhibition tickets separately.
  • ・If there is space available, you can also make a same-day reservation. Please contact the MUSEUM reception staff.
  • ・Please arrive at the workshop location (inside the exhibition room) 5 minutes before the start. Workshop participation tickets (real tickets) will be confirmed at the venue. Please be punctual.
  • ・It is also possible for multiple people to purchase one ticket and have multiple people make one "Mikey's plate."
  • ・The completed work is ``Lisa LarsonAfter the "How to Make Exhibition" period ends, the products will be refired in Mashiko and then delivered by mail, so you will not be able to take them home. It is scheduled to be shipped around the end of March.
  • ・Since it is made of ceramic, it will break if it is roughly handled or dropped. Please handle with care.
  • ・Small children are welcome to participate, but since the work takes a long time, if they get bored midway through, they may not be able to complete the task. Please note that we cannot provide refunds even if you are unable to complete your order.
  • ・Production time is 60 minutes. We recommend that you prepare an image of the design in advance so that you can enjoy the painting process in a relaxed manner within the limited time available. Please note that the time cannot be extended.
  • ・If the paint (glaze) used for painting gets on clothing, it will not come off even if you wash it. We will prepare paper aprons on the day of the event, but please note that they may get on your clothes, so please wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.
  • ・After painting, a medium white glaze (a type of transparent glaze) is applied and fired in Mashiko. The color tone of the finished product may differ from the sample image. Thank you for your understanding.
