[About the product]
Tonkachi has been working with the creative kokeshi workshop in Gunma Prefecture.Lisa LarsonorEleonor BoströmI've made kokeshi. This is a kokeshi from Donna's popular creature, "Mono Cat." Not only the white and black striped patterns, but also the distinctive green eye is clearly reproduced. Her pop color scheme is mixed with the Japanese atmosphere of the natural kokeshi wood, and the surreal and mysterious atmosphere of the creature can be clearly felt from her kokeshi face.
[About design]
The Kokeshi production process begins with having the artist's work seen by a kokeshi craftsman, and then the craftsman himself becomes a designer and recreates the work for the kokeshi. After seeing the finished sample, the artist makes a request, and the craftsman corrects it. After repeating the steps several times, the Kokeshi is finally complete. Among the many times that the site was dropped along the way, Donna's Kokeshi proceeded very smoothly this time. When I first showed Donna the finished sample, the words I received were "Kawaii!" The only request was to adjust the position of the eye. That's why Donna's Kokeshi was completed in a flash. Although it is small, it has a great presence with its pop atmosphere. It's so cute that you'll want to add it to your interior accent.
[Comments from staff]
The white and black cat looks a little gross. This child does not use felt like the other children, but the long, charming tail is arranged to match the Kokeshi behind it. If you prefer monochrome interiors, we recommend placing these "monochrome cat" and "dog digby" side by side. It will surely create a modern and cute atmosphere.
