This vase is one of a series inspired by minimalism and contemporary aesthetics.
It uses chamotte stoneware (platedware), and the inside is finished with a transparent, glossy glaze, giving it a slippery texture, while the exterior is made of the natural, unadorned, rugged texture of the earth, accentuating the contrast between the inside and outside. By drawing hand-drawn pictures using soil as a canvas, we create a straight, freshly born image without any unnecessary elements involved.
The outer painting is drawn in one go with a brush before firing. The inner glaze is fired at a high temperature of 1250°C at two degrees, making it more durable and long lasting. As each item is handmade, the size and pattern may vary slightly depending on the item.

Inhee Ma, a graduate of Montpellier's High School of Art, is originally from Korea and engages in a complex mix of contemporary art, design and crafts.
Her ceramic works aim to be decorative pieces such as vases, teapots, cups, bowls, and plates. By developing a collection based on the minimalist aesthetic of wabi-sabi, her work creates dialogue with craftsmanship, art and nature.
