This is an otter from the JIE series, created in the early 1990s.
In the 1970s, the company was selling animal ceramics in collaboration with WWF (World Wild Fund), but the collaboration was restarted in the 1990s.
There were 14 types sold in the 1990s JIE series. It was created with the theme of creatures that represent various parts of Sweden. In addition to the rat, there is a lineup of rare animals, including lynx, golden eagles, otters, beavers, elks, and stag beetles.
The JIE series otters have different foot shapes than those created during the Gustavsberg era.
