[About the product]
Marianne HallbergThe Seto ware "bucket flowerpot" was inspired by the original work "bucket". This is an item that shines with craftsmanship, spending more than a year paying close attention to every detail with the pottery in Aichi Prefecture, who works with Marianne's Setoyaki series.
In her works, Marianne often makes many ancient objects such as hangers, switches, carpet beaters, and other functional objects (tools). The people she is interested in are hardworking people who do various jobs behind the scenes, but their contributions are usually not given much attention, and the main character is Bucket.

*Since it is made using "sludge casting", which is one of the ancient molding methods of ceramic manufacturing, there may be irregularities or small pinholes on the surface. In addition, because each piece is painted by hand by a craftsman, there may be individual differences in the shading and bleeding of the glaze.
*What is "sludge casting molding"?
A method of pouring slurry into a plaster mold, leaving it for a certain period of time, and then pouring out the excess slurry when the required thickness is reached.

[About the design]
Her unique blue color is called Marianne Blue. Even the blue blur and the texture of the pottery are delicately reproduced in Seto ware, making this a finished product that can only be achieved with traditional Japanese techniques.
We made repeated adjustments to the lines on the sides that were not parallel, the wavering of the lines, and the position of the screws, recreating Marianne's hand-drawn lines not only on the outside but also on the inside, paying close attention to detail.
Note the exquisite thickness, which maintains the thinness characteristic of Marianne's original work, while maintaining the strength of a potted plant.
The bottom part is engraved with "Tonkachi / Made in Japan".

[About size and specifications]
The potted plants are small enough to fit in one hand, making them perfect for planting cacti, succulents, 1-2 plants, and herbs. It is the perfect size for size 3 to 3.5 plants (plants planted in pots with a diameter of 9 to 11 cm). The potted plant comes with a hole in the bottom and a saucer, so you don't have to worry about water leaking or soil spilling from the bottom of the pot. You can safely display plants indoors.

[About plants]
Echeveria Crispate Beauty
"Echeveria Crispate Beauty" is said to be one of the most unique and large varieties of the Echeveria genus. It is a very beautiful succulent plant with delicate fringes (wavy) on the edges of the leaves and a pale pink gradation that is entirely covered with white powder.
They are delicate and sensitive to cold, so be sure to keep them indoors during the winter. If you can keep the temperature above 10 degrees, it will be easier to maintain its beautiful color and shape.
It prefers a sunny location, but in order to keep the white powder (bloom) that covers the entire plant clean, care must be taken not to touch the leaves directly or expose them to rain.
Once the plant has grown and its stems have lengthened, you can cut it and use cuttings (cutting a part of the plant and rooting it to propagate), or you can use leaf cuttings to grow the plant by arranging the leaves.

[Points to take care of]
◯ Watering frequency: It stores moisture in its leaves, so it is very resistant to dryness. In spring and autumn, it is ideal to give plenty of water after a few days after the soil is completely dry.
◯Amount of water per time: Pour plenty of water until water flows out from the bottom of the pot. At this time, the biggest secret to growing beautifully is to gently feed the roots so that the leaves do not get water so that the beautiful "white powder" does not peel off.
◯Winter watering: In winter, when the temperature drops, watering should be further reduced. Once or twice a month, keep the surface moist and keep it slightly dry to increase its ability to withstand the cold.
◯About misting (leaf water): For types that spray powder like Crispate Beauty, leaf water is basically not necessary as the powder becomes uneven or falls off when sprayed.
◯Where to grow: It prefers sunlight, so a well-ventilated and bright window is a special place. Strong direct sunlight in midsummer can cause leaf burn, so provide soft light through lace curtains.
◯If you want to take it outdoors: You can enjoy it outdoors on mild days in spring and autumn, but it is a little sensitive to cold, so when the minimum temperature drops below 10 degrees, you should move it indoors where it is warm.

[Comments from staff]
Although the beauty of the design tends to catch your eye, it is actually a full-fledged model that is packed with ingenuity to help grow plants healthily. The set includes a hole in the bottom of the pot and a saucer so that you can safely water it indoors, which is a must-have for plant lovers. No matter what you plant, it will look great, so I'm excited about which plants to pair with it next.
It blends in well with both Japanese and Western interiors, so we can confidently recommend this item as a gift for anyone who loves plants.
