[About the product]
Lisa LarsonA hedgehog from Japan.
The rare vintage "hedgehog" from Gustavsberg's Endangered Animal Series, has been reborn in Japan's Mashiko ware.
Mashikoyaki (Mashikoyaki) is a pottery in the area around Mashiko Town, Tochigi Prefecture, which has a history since the end of the Edo period, and visited Japan in the 1950s.Lisa LarsonHe met Hamada Shoji, a living national treasure, and was fascinated by him forever. This time, using Mashiko ware, we resized the vintage Hedgehog to Japan size, and created a brown color using Mashiko's glaze, "Kasumi Glaze," which Lisa loves, and a new gray color.
The model Hedgehog
Gustavsberg, a company that produced many famous animal works in the 20th century. The most highly acclaimed "Utrotningshotade Djur (Endangered Animals) Series" was created for the WWF (World Wild Fund) between 1975 and 1981.
The 13 animals, released one design each year by Gustavsberg, were sold exclusively at NK department stores in Stockholm and Gothenburg, Sweden.Lisa LarsonIt features seven of the 13 linx, golden eagles, bison, otter, falcon, gray seals, and hedgehogs. [About design]
Mashiko ware is said to have a thick, slightly thick shape and a warm feel. Taking advantage of this characteristic, we have become a Japanese mouse with an impressive, memorable thorns, sturdy legs, and dignified eyes. The traditional glaze color typical of Mashiko ware creates a calm atmosphere.
The roundness typical of Lisa's works is redesigned to a Japanese size that is slightly smaller than the original, just like a vintage piece. The new Hari Mouse, which was reborn in modern times through Japanese Mashiko ware, is a new, yet nostalgic feeling.
