This pottery was created for the ``Pippi Longstocking World Exhibition'' held to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Sweden.
The famous scene that appeared on the cover of Pippi's picture book is recreated. It looks like Pippi is lifting the horse, or Pippi is doing a handstand on top of the horse. This work is packed with Lisa's playful spirit.

Works with the main character Pippi as a motif were produced for two years until 1971, and are still loved by collectors around the world.
Pippi Longstocking is a masterpiece of Swedish children's literature published in over 100 countries around the world.
During the Pippi boom of 1969, Gustavsberg commissioned Lisa to design a ceramic Pippi with the chimpanzee Nilsson on her shoulder.
This is a rare photo of the original author Astrid Lindgren (left) and Lisa (right) standing side by side looking at the work.
Mr. Lindgren was impressed by this pottery, and the two began to have a close relationship.
The ceramic piece that the two of them are looking at, showing Pippi standing with a monkey on her shoulder, has never been reprinted.
