[About the product]
Across the Sea, the early masterpiece of M.B. Goffstein, announced in 1968. We, Tonkachi, will deliver the title of this dream masterpiece "in the sea" and deliver it to you in Yuriko Ishida's first translation.

The original version of this book, "Across the Sea", is a phantom work that was a masterpiece but unpublished in Japan. This is the fourth picture book for Goffstein, published between the two books in Japan, "Brookie and Her Lamb" and "Goldie The Dollmaker". The story is composed of five independent stories, starting with the story of the grandfather and I meet beyond space and time in the sea, and ends with the story of a gluttonous bird that appeared in an uncomfortable windmill. This story, which seems to be connected and is not clearly connected, is a few centimeters ahead of the sea, the sky, the sky, and a few centimeters ahead of the quiet everyday life. It depicts such hope.

[Design]
Goffstein has a strong image of monochrome, but the original English version is printed in three colors, red, blue and black. This color version was to be reproduced in the original remastered version of the box set, and in the Japanese version, the coloring was reconsidered from Ichi. At first it was composed of monochrome, but then changed to color. I changed the coloring many times and settled on this color at the end. The commitment is that the color of the sea is slightly different depending on the scene. And the color of the sabo of the unidentified girl (the cover and the girl who appears at the end). Sophie's left and right colors are different (why?). And it is a red sabo flowing through the sea. I set up a mischief so that another story over the sabo can be felt behind. The binding was definitely decided to be "cloth" from the beginning, and the color finally settled here.

[From the production staff]
As we were busy, we have redo all the finished books, as if we were encouraged by Yuriko Ishida's sentence. Two years have passed since the first idea, but suddenly everything is over, and we can't face this book yet. As Goffstein says, it is certainly such a book, "I tried to reach out to the place where it could not reach." I'm glad if you like it.
