[About the product]
From Marianne's Japan series, Salt & Pepper produced by the Ureshino Hizen Yoshida ware pottery. "DREAMS & iLLUSiONS" is used for the one-hole salt shaker, and "SiMPLE LiFE" is used for the three-hole pepper shaker. Each one is engraved with Marianne's words. You can add salt and pepper by removing the stopper at the bottom.
When I emailed Marianne and asked her, ``If Salt & Pepper could say one thing, what would it say?'', and she answered, ``I'm at home.'' It's like my nostalgic memories. ” came the answer.
[About the design]
When I visited Marianne's Swedish atelier, one of her one-of-a-kind vases caught my eye. When I saw that shape, I thought, ``It would be great to have salt and pepper in this shape,'' and that's how this item started. A vase measuring approximately 17 cm was 3D scanned in Japan, and based on its shape, it was sized to be easy to use as a salt and pepper.
What is surprising is how it fits when you pick it up. By changing the shape of the vase to a small size for salt and pepper, a perfect indentation was created where the fingers would hit, making it unintentionally easy to hold.
Additionally, the words "DREAMS & iLLUSiONS" were originally written on the vase, but when I asked Marianne what word she would like to go with, she replied "SiMPLE LiFE."
[Comments from staff]
When our staff members tried using it at their own dining tables, the first thing they noticed was the beauty of white. Marianne's slightly distorted hand-drawn letters stand out against the clean white color unique to Hizen Yoshida ware, giving the dining room a much more sophisticated atmosphere.
I was also surprised not only by its cute appearance, but also by how easy it was to hold. Even when you pick it up with one hand while cooking, your fingers naturally fit into the dents, making it non-slip and extremely easy to use. It comes in a sturdy foil-stamped gift box, so it's also recommended as a wedding gift or housewarming gift.
