[About the product]
Marianne Hallberg``Perfume Bottle'', which is a perennially popular item among his works, has been renewed with Ureshino Hizen Yoshida ware. It was also produced at a Seto ware pottery, but this time we have reconstructed the details to match the material, based on Marianne's original work. It is lighter in weight (150g → 90g) and smaller in size (approximately 1cm each) than the previous one, and has evolved into a delicate appearance that is closer to Marianne's original work.
[About the design]
With this renewal, the material has been changed from semi-porcelain to porcelain, making the whiteness of the pieces stand out.
The most difficult part of the production process was ensuring a sense of stability by reducing the size. We made repeated fine adjustments to maintain the perfect balance to prevent it from tipping over. In addition, each piece is carefully finished by a craftsman so that the delicate transfer design on the front and the handwritten lines on the side seamlessly connect. The diameter is smaller than that of Seto ware perfume bottles, making it an ideal bottle for holding a single flower.

I love Seto ware vases, but Ureshino Hizen Yoshida ware vases can also be enjoyed freshly.
The Setoyaki model was able to arrange several flowers at once, but this updated version has a much smaller mouth, making it the perfect size to display a single rose. The flowers will stand up without falling over too much, so you can create a picture without the need for any technique.
The Marianne Blue lines stand out against the pure white porcelain, so it goes well with flowers of any color. A magical vase that transforms a flower you picked in the garden in the morning or a flower you fell in love with at first sight at a flower shop into something special.
Both perfume bottles are part of my precious collection.
[What's different about Marianne this time? ]
The materials themselves are different between "Seto ware", the original of Marianne's Japanese production series, and "Hizen Yoshida ware". Seto ware uses semi-porcelain, which is between porcelain and porcelain. As a result, the soft texture, the expression of the glaze, and the fluctuation of the handiwork are revealed, and the thickness and firing tend to vary between pieces, resulting in subtle differences in the finish of each piece. On the other hand, Ureshino Hizen Yoshida ware is a production area of porcelain. Porcelain is made using pottery stone as its main material and is fired at high temperatures, resulting in a tight texture. Therefore, it is a material whose whiteness and shape are easily stable. The contours are clear, and the texture and mouthfeel are smooth.
Even if they are based on the same shape, each has different characteristics in terms of thickness, size, and overall impression.
