[About the product]
Marianne Hallberg×Seto ware
Marianne HallbergAfter 6 years of trial and error, the 5 main works of `` are finally released simultaneously in collaboration with Seto ware! Her original works are attractive for their hand-drawn lines, smearing and wobbling, as well as slightly distorted molding and thinness. However, because it was handmade, it was not possible to make many at once, and it was also true that we were unable to deliver it to a wide range of people. So this time, Tonkachi and Marianne searched for mass production while preserving as much of the original quality as possible, and they came across a Seto ware pottery in Aichi Prefecture that has been around since the Taisho era. This is the Seto ware version of Marianne's masterpiece, ``Perfume Bottle Cabin''. Her popular works are now more readily available to everyone. The bottom part is engraved with "Tonkachi / Made in Japan".
[About Marianne's Setoyaki collaboration]
Under the supervision of Marianne herself, this product was completed by reviewing the manufacturing process from the ground up in collaboration with a Japanese Seto ware pottery, in order to provide affordable prices and durability while retaining as much of her original goodness as possible. The pottery that is the ideal partner for us, Tonkachi, and Marianne, is one of the representative potteries of Seto ware that has been around since the Taisho era.
[About the design]
Her unique blue color is called Marianne Blue. Even the blue color and the texture of the pottery are delicately reproduced in Seto ware, making this a finished product that can only be achieved with traditional Japanese techniques. The original "perfume bottle" is approximately 3mm thick, but this Seto ware version is approximately 4mm thick. By making it slightly thicker, the weight has been increased by about 40g, giving it a good sense of stability and, even better, durability!
[Comments from staff]
The shape of a perfume bottle looks like something out of an old foreign movie. Just by placing it there, the three-dimensional feel and blurred blue color will create an illusion for a moment, and every time you gently pick it up and arrange a flower, it will transport you back in time to a lovely feeling. The motif is a perfume bottle that Marianne once loved. By the way, her favorite scent is "patchouli".
