When I was planning to make "Lisa's Cat from Japan," the first thing that came to mind was Mr. K from Mashiko ware T-Koubo. So far,Classic flat plates and teacupsForest and Animal Picture Plate Series、「Bears” andA hedgehog from Japan. He has produced works such as ", and is an indispensable workshop for Lisa's Japan series.

However, this time, "Nippon Lisa Cat" will be a much different approach than usual. The biggest difference is that they first create a mold based on Lisa's prototype in one workshop, then transfer the mold to the next workshop, and try to make different cats at workshops across the country, like relays. This may seem like a "fun project," but in reality it may be difficult. A mold is like an original drawing for a production workshop, and can be said to be the life of that workshop. Therefore, this attempt is a request to divert its life.

Also, this time I don't want them to make exactly the same as the original work by Lisa. Each workshop has its own characteristics, and human hands are added to the production process, which reveals the individuality of the people involved. While incorporating the individuality of the workshop and individual, she aims to become a cat that looks like a real creature, just born in the area, while still retaining the "goodness" of Lisa's original atmosphere like a soul inherited from her mother.

This should be very different from your usual job, and it will require a lot of effort to try and error, and in the first place, a happy Lisa cat can only be born if you enjoy making it. Now, who will accept such a request with a smile? Just as I thought so, I realized that Mr. K from Mashiko's T-Workshop was the only one.

When Mr. K listened to us, he immediately came up with a way to do it. Mr. T doesn't just want to do anything, he thinks how he can do it. To bring out the characteristics of Mashikoyaki,I deliberately used Shigaraki soil instead of Mashiko,Mashiko'straditionIt is a glaze"Mini white glaze"It would be better to do it. Make it from ceramics rather than magnetism, and value the hand-painted texture. They formed a production team focusing on women in their 30s who love cats. It is produced by a group of five people at any time.

The version after this first edition is already in prototype form, but there are many cat lovers, so it seems they have come up with a variety of ideas.

The difficult part is the face, as if they were to have thin guide grooves in the mold and draw them accordingly, but as they are drawn by hand, there are subtle differences. In the end, we have a selfish desire to not disrupt the original atmosphere too much, but also reflect the individuality of each artist, so the balance seems to be the most difficult. We also request it, but think it's quite difficult. sorry! This time, we are leaving our usual workshop techniques and asking us to make new attempts everywhere. for example,"BearsIn ", the part that is colored with a spray, but this time, after applying pigment, it is wiped off with gloves once, creating subtle unevenness and spots. This creates a natural finish that is closer to the original.

What was interesting about listening to the story was that this T-Koubo has been involved in Lisa's projects many times, and the prototype was created.3D scan and dataIn a sense, the modern way of making the shape is different from the usual process, and that is actually refreshing and enjoyable. This was an unexpected surprise. It wasn't that the inhumanity felt unsatisfactory, but the fact that people enjoyed it was something that Lisa enjoyed everything, and that she always enjoyed her work, even when she was made in a country far away from her hands and in a different way than she originally expected. In the end, the ability to enjoy yourself becomes the ability to relay "fun" to others.

Mashiko isSince ancient times,Production areas where kitchenware is mainly producedinBecause of that, folk artsStrong colourThere were a lot of potteryThat's right,Since then, ceramic artists and artists have moved from all over the country, and have developed into a land where they can freely create their works.Apparently that Of course, I fully understand that it is because of this kind of foundation that you can work with us. Thank you for history. I am grateful for Lisa and Hamada Shoji for meeting her. Thank you to the cat. Thank you to T-Kobo, Mr. K, and the women in their 30s. We would like to thank everyone who supports "Lisa Cat from Japan"!
