[About the product]
M.B. Goffstein's "Natural History" published in the United States in 1979 was out of print after the Japanese version was published in 1990 with the title "Living" (translated by Shuntaro Tanikawa). 。 This time, we have renewed the new translation and new design with the new title "Real We". We have two types: a single -body sales of a normal picture book, and a limited box set that includes a picture book and a ceramic plate.
[Design]
This book is a full -colored picture book using watercolor paint for the first time with Goffstein, which has a strong monochrome image. In the original version, the standard style of Goffstein, which is placed in the center of the page, and takes enough margins, is followed, but in this remake, the picture is laid out all over the page and emphasizes the delicate expression of watercolor. I remade it as a genuine "picture book". In the original version, I brought the picture on the cover to the last page in this remake version. The painting is a mysterious and symbolic picture that looks like an entrance that welcomes us into the door, and looks like an exit that leads to the other side of the door when you change your perspective. This picture is "Real BOX set of usIt is also used for ceramic plates made for. Books and boxes "In the sea(Translation: Yuriko Ishida), and this time as a “fabric” specification, we are particular about the organic feel.
[From the production staff]
This book is too cute, and too serious and magnificent. The two are picture books that coexist. First of all, please read it as usual. From now on, don't worry about the letters, turn the page at a free speed and chase the picture. Then, you should be able to feel the message just by looking at the picture without chasing the character. The picture tells everything. The picture complements everything and takes it to the farthest. All of her books have such a tendency, but I think this book is especially true, so I made it because I wanted to deliver it and convey it.
[Synopsis of picture books]
Starting with a lively universe depiction, war, poverty, nature, animals living there, and to us who live in peace under the moonlight, the story runs across space and time like a glance. Drifting of the soul that explores the real way of living.
