Japanese Lisa cat
Number 7, Koyuki of Hagi

Natural strength and graceful Lisa cat.
The ``Japanese Lisa Cat'' project travels around the country.
The fourth stage is Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture.
The seventh cat, Koyuki, was born in the area of Hagiyaki, Japan's most famous pottery.
Hagiyaki uses clay, glaze, and firing to create its expression without using much color or painting.
This product is finished with "Kairagi", which is characterized by a curly pattern. At first glance, it has a gentle and soft texture. However, deep within, the strength of nature itself lives quietly.
*Kairagi is one of the typical expressions of Hagiyaki. It is characterized by the unique unevenness created by the glaze curling during firing, and because the effects of the earth and flame are strong, no two pieces will look the same. It has been especially loved in the world of tea ceremony, including tea bowls.

It has a chubby three-dimensional feel and a soft warmth that you can feel when you pick it up.
In this work, two types of glazes are layered to create the fluffy texture of cat fur.
The way the glaze is applied and the density of the glaze will vary slightly from one to the next.
These small differences can greatly change the look and atmosphere.

The texture of ``Kairagi'', which has been loved in the world of tea ceremony, naturally overlaps with the cat's body, and it brings to mind the image of an elegant stray cat walking in and out of the tea room.
Lisa cat shows a different expression every time you look at it from the front or from the back.
The cat you will receive is the only cat that was born here.
Each item is handmade by a craftsman, so there may be individual differences in expression, pattern, color, and size. Please enjoy each one as its own individuality.
*Facial expressions are applied using a transfer sheet.
Hagiyaki

Hagiyaki is one of Japan's most representative pottery, developed in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Due to its soft texture and the fact that its appearance changes the more it is used, it has been called the ``seven disguises of clover''.
Accepting the way things change over time rather than perfect beauty.
This time's "Nippon's Lisa Cat (Number 7, Hagi) Koyuki" was also produced while valuing the philosophy of Hagiyaki.

I foil-stamped the stray cat that Lisa drew.
Lisa really, really loved Japanese pottery!
Lisa loved Japanese pottery so much that no matter how big, big, big, big it was, it was never enough. That's why the idea of having Lisa's work made in potteries across Japan was in my mind from the very beginning when I started working with her. At first, it was a dream story that came out as a routine at the end of a conversation. As time passed, it became no longer a dream, but a plan that I absolutely wanted to realize.
