Why am I like this

Marina Le Gall

The gallery "No Kogiri" holds a solo exhibition by French potter Marina Le Gal, "Why am I in this place?" This exhibition is her second solo exhibition in Japan, and is the first exhibition that focuses on painting works.

Her painting refuses to judge with the human brain while cutting out the landscape from an instant and cool perspective, as shown in the photograph taken by a reconnaissance or animal -type Android. Reject any judgment by the collected data. Whether you are death or live, there is no big sadness or special joy. Humans just go down and feel the natural flow of blood and the smell of a faint blood while observing the obvious flow. She says that drawing on nature and animals on the theme is to accept contradictions rather than in line with a straight story. Only humans care about the story and the contradiction. Her painting exists where they abandoned them, and the human body in the shell is returned and sculpted like blood. Why are we, who have been isolated from all kinds of nature and life?

Exhibition scenery

Marina Le Gall
(Marina Le Gal)

People and animals, dreams and reality, tragedy and comedy, memory and future. French genius who can freely go back and forth.

Born in 1986 as a farmer in the Buretagne regional Camparre in France, he spent his childhood surrounded by animals. The fact that he accompanied his father's hunting and recorded the dying animals has led to her current expression. After graduating from high school, studied pottery at the Paris National Arts School. After studying abroad at Sydney University of the Arts, he acquired DNSAP (Le Diplôme National Supérieur D'ARTS PLASTIQUES, qualifications in the French national professional arts field). Since then, exhibitions have been held around the world, including Paris, London, and Brussels. The project of a huge work of 3 m, 3 m, which was produced in a forest on the outskirts of Paris in 2016, attracted attention both in Japan and overseas.
