STORY OF "Bucket flower bowl"
POINT 01
Design that blends in the interior
The design of Marianne Blue on white porcelain looks strange and inorganic, but the shaking and bleeding of the line make you feel organic vitality. The simple design fits into any taste interior.
POINT 02
Effective size and functionality
It is about 11cm in width, about 10cm in height, and a size that can fit 3.5 pots. There is a sense of security if you carry it with both hands. There is a bottom hole in the lower part of the potted plants, and a saucer that plays a role in preventing water and soil from falling to the floor is also set, and has a unique design to grow plants. We also sell only flower pots, so please plant your favorite plants and enjoy them.
POINT 03
Japan Maid SETO series (Seto Yaki)
Marianne's SETO series is a traditional "Seto ware" that produces Seto City, Aichi Prefecture. As it has been exported abroad, it is widely known as a typical traditional crafts that send the appeal of "MADE IN JAPAN" to the world. Marianne's partner in Japan is one of the potters that represents Seto -yaki, which has continued since the Taisho era. Every time, I ask for Marianne's work, but this time I repeated the prototype many times and completed the mass -produced products that are as close to handmade as possible.
I asked the craftsman.
We talked to the workshop who is always making Marianne about "bucket flower bowl".
Y: This time, the staff who was in charge of the photo and the web of the bucket flower bowl. The interview is probably the first time (tension).
S: Mr. Shimakura (always kind), the representative of the studio who makes Marianne.
Y: How many trial and error have this time?
S: The hardest part was thin. I wanted to make the body thinner as much as possible, so it was very easy to sink. That is one point. The other is a fairly complicated print inside. This is hand -working, so only highly technical craftsmen can put it. Fill a very thin film -like thing while accurately fitting the picture and bake it at 1230 degrees. There is only one craftsman who can perfect this process.
Y: Are you working on that craftsman alone?
S: Yes, that's right. It can be pasted by other people, but when it was the highest quality and it could be paste neatly, it was already better.
Look more
Y: Have you grasped the tips to make while doing many Marianne works so far?
S: I've been doing this for about 5 or 6 years, so I'm gradually knowing that Marianne's sensitivity is. In that area, I was able to reproduce the original work as much as possible and reproduce it without a shake.
Y: How many people are involved in making one of Marianne's works?
S: About 12 people on the site.
Y: How many a day is a day?
S: About 50 to 100 a day, about 50 now.
Y: Could you tell me the work process until one of Marianne works?
S: First of all, I will have the work made by Marianne himself. Copy it accurately on a machine called 3D scan. From that data, create a resin prototype with a 3D printer. From there, it becomes manual, wrapped in this prototype to make a mold, bake it, and make the first sample.
Y: It's about repeating the correction while watching the sample.
S: That's right. I always modify it with Tonkachi M (the planning progress of Tonkachi's Marianne work). After completing the school, make about 10 molds for mass production. If you produce about 100 in one type, the type will not be available. By repeatedly modifying from the first sample, it may take a lot of time here, as it will create the image you want. In the case of this "bucket flower pot", the shape was really smooth, but this is rare. Marianne's work always takes time. It's not easy.
"Bucket aesthetics" that Marianne thinks
Her work has two aspects. A gorgeous "light surface" like a rose or perfume bottle, and a "shadow surface" that is not a gorgeous bucket.
"Things are just boring just beautiful. It's interesting to be frustrated with yourself and what you want to know what it is. There are buckets in every household. It's a plastic, but it was a plastic now. But a bucket and my beloved roses are good compatibility. There are the same beauty in the two. The bucket has beauty. It's beautiful. Nobody notices. The bucket is humble, has a perfect design, and it's still useful. She says.
Whether it's a bucket or a rose, the approach of Marianne is always the same. The aesthetics she have has changed all the time.
"Ugly things are also beautiful. Beautiful things are ugly."
In other words, simple is complicated, things you don't care about, things you care about, things you don't claim are claimed, all of which lead to beauty.
